Thanksgiving

Yea we have so much to be Thankful for this year! So glad we got to celebrate with our American friends and English friends together, even if it was a week late.  Definitely feel more in the holiday spirit now!  We didn't get to celebrate on Thanksgiving day because I was busy baking for the bake stall.  I did send Adelynn to school with the Thanksgiving story and a few craft ideas for her teacher to do with them.  When I picked her up all the kids came out with Indian headdresses on they had made.  At the toddler group I help with, I read a story about Thanksgiving, we made a thankful tree, and then made little turkeys with autumn leaves.  So I guess we did something, just didn't do the whole dinner.  Matt actually took us out for Italian.  It was a nice day.

This weekend though, we had a huge dinner.  There is another American couple who come to the church we help with and another mommy friend who is American and we all made Thanksgiving together for several of our British friends.  There were about 14 adults and 12 kiddos at my house.  It was loud and chaotic but LOTS of fun.  Found a way for us to all have a place to sit down at the table too.  Matt made a delicious Turkey and everyone brought other things to eat! YUMMY

The kicker was that my stove top broke the morning we were having everyone over.  It blew a fuze and almost caught on fire :(.  Trying not to panic, Matt was able to disconnect it so at least we could run the oven.  Not the best timing.  We figured out how to work around it though!

On Sunday we had two other families over for Thanksgiving.  These two families so so precious to us! They are like our family here.  We love them and are so grateful for them.  It was a nice quiet (relatively speaking with 6 kids playing) family dinner.  Good although I was bummed that my pecan pie didn't turn out like usual and my rolls fell :(

We are SO very thankful for the people God has placed in our lives.  They mean so much to us and bless us all the time! They have been such amazing supporters and encouragers to us.  We love "doing life" with them!

Friday we had a family day and decorated for Christmas so the whole weekend felt a bit more like a Christmas party but still very fun and glad we could have Thanksgiving dinner finally with all our close friends! Blessed!!!
